About Coffeed
- Coffeed is an app to discover, save, and share coffee shops. It shows you the nearest coffee shops, lets you explore each one with detailed information (hours, contact, features, reviews), save your favorites in custom collections, leave reviews, report problems, and even add new coffee shops. If you own a shop, you can claim ownership of your coffee shop and keep its information up to date yourself.
- It's built for five types of people: (1) urban coffee lovers who want to discover new specialty coffee shops, (2) remote workers or students who need to filter by WiFi, power outlets, and quietness, (3) tourists or visitors looking for reliable recommendations, (4) coffee shop owners who want their business to be discoverable and to keep their info up to date, and (5) regulars at a coffee shop who want to accumulate perks.
- There's an app for iOS and Android, plus a web version. The mobile app is the main product. The web complements it with a page per coffee shop, links that open the app directly, and the sign-in flow.
- Yes, Coffeed is completely free and ad-free for users. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no paywalls. A B2B plan for coffee shop owners is a future hypothesis, but there is no active paid plan today.
- Today Coffeed is focused on Chile, with Santiago as the default location. The product's vision is to expand across Latin America, but for now the main base and quality data live in Chile.
- No. Coffeed doesn't charge users anything today: no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no locked features. If we ever offer an optional plan for coffee shop owners, we'll communicate it openly on this page.
About the information
- Through the community and through shop owners themselves. Any user can report incorrect information (closed, wrong hours, wrong address) from the app. In addition, owners can claim ownership of their coffee shop, go through an approval process, and edit the data directly from the app. The result is curated information, not scraped data.
- Yes. The flow is: (1) you claim ownership of your coffee shop from the app, (2) the Coffeed team reviews and approves the request, (3) once approved, you can edit hours, address, contact, features, and more from the app. It's free and self-service.
- The report is logged and the Coffeed staff reviews it. If it's confirmed that the shop is closed or the data is wrong, the information is corrected in the database. Reports help the app avoid showing outdated places to other users.
- Because Google Maps shows automatically copied data that nobody reviews. On Coffeed, the information is maintained by the community and by the owners themselves: validated hours, owners editing what changes, reports when something is off. The result is information you can trust and use to decide where to go today.
Privacy & data
- The app logs activity to understand how it's used and improve it. That includes: device info (brand, model, OS, app version), IP address, browser details, GPS coordinates (only if you granted location permission), country, city, region, timezone, the permissions you granted (location, camera, notifications), connection type, language, active theme, and the screen where each event happens. We don't collect data we don't need to run the product.
- The full policy lives on the Privacy Policy page. As a principle, we only share the minimum needed to provide the service (for example, the service that sends in-app alerts, or the provider that stores the data). We do not sell personal data. For the up-to-date legal detail, please check the Privacy Policy.
- Yes. The app has a flow to delete your account. When you do, your reviews, saved places, lists, and all data associated with your account are removed. It's a one-way step: once deleted, it cannot be recovered.
Team & business model
- Coffeed is developed by Coffeed Solutions. It's a small project, maintained by a tiny founding team. That's why Coffeed is free and ad-free: today's focus is on building the best possible app for the community, not on maximizing revenue.
- Today, Coffeed has no active monetization. The project is sustained with resources from the founding team while we grow the user base. In the future, the options we're evaluating are: (1) an optional plan for coffee shop owners with advanced analytics, (2) partnerships with coffee brands, (3) a percentage on the loyalty program, and/or (4) a marketplace. Whichever of these gets implemented, it will be communicated transparently.
Support & community
- By email at [email protected]. That's the direct channel with the founding team. We try to respond within 48 business hours.
- Yes. The main channel is Instagram: @coffeed.app. We post news, featured coffee shops, and behind-the-scenes of the product there.
- Yes, and it's the main way the app grows. From the app, in the add-coffee-shop button, you fill out a form with map, photo, hours, and basic data. The Coffeed team reviews the submission and, if everything checks out, approves it and it becomes visible to everyone.
- It's in development. The idea is that coffee shops can offer a digital stamp system: the customer scans a QR at the counter, earns a stamp, and on reaching N stamps redeems a reward. Parts of the flow are already implemented, but it isn't available to end users yet. When we launch it, we'll announce it on Instagram and inside the app.
